General Information

We are pleased to invite national federations, clubs, and individual athletes to participate in the Poznań Fencing Camp 2026, an international high-performance training camp designed to support preparation for the upcoming fencing season.

The camp will take place in Poznań, Poland from 15–21 August 2026 and is open to athletes in the U15 and U20 categories.

  • structured technical and tactical training sessions
  • intensive sparring in an international environment
  • access to professional infrastructure (20 strips, 2 sports halls)

A central figure of the camp is Paweł Kantorski, one of the most experienced and respected fencing coaches in Poland and Europe. He has worked for many years within elite-level fencing structures, including serving as a national team coach of the Polish women’s foil team .

His coaching philosophy is based on a combination of:

  • high-level tactical preparation
  • precision in technical execution
  • modern, performance-oriented training systems
  • individual athlete development

The effectiveness of his work is best reflected in the results of his athletes. He led Alaaeldin Abouelkassem to a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics — one of the most significant achievements in modern foil fencing. In recent years, he has also been responsible for developing top Polish athletes competing successfully at the highest international level, confirming his ability to build world-class performance systems.

Host City – Poznań

Poznań is one of the oldest and most historically significant cities in Poland, dating back to the origins of the Polish state. It is widely recognized as a key academic, economic, and cultural center, combining over 1000 years of history with modern infrastructure and international accessibility.

The city’s most iconic landmark is the Renaissance Town Hall located in the Old Market Square, where every day at noon the famous mechanical goats appear and butt heads — a tradition dating back to the 16th century and one of the most recognizable symbols of the city.

Poznań is also known for its culinary heritage, particularly the St. Martin’s Croissant (Rogal Świętomarciński), a protected regional product with over 150 years of tradition. The city offers a vibrant atmosphere, combining historic architecture, cultural events, and a dynamic student population, making it an ideal location for international sports camps.
